Earthbound Goddesses:
Caitlyn’s Top Hot Chicks
Audrey Hepburn
Reason to be adored: starred in many brilliant films, lovely speaking voice with the looks to match, great humanitarian, fashion icon, in other words a goddess on all levels
Classic Moment: in Funny Face when she first appears as a high fashion model after being transformed from her bookworm personae
Adoration Level: 5 goddess points out of 5
In short: The first thing I see every morning when I wake up is my Audrey Hepburn calendar, and I think to myself, ‘What can I do today to be more like Audrey?’ How can I be wittier, cleverer, kinder, and more beautiful? And while I know that I will never be a sparkling and wonderful as she was (after all who can achieve the same level as a legend) I hope that by striving to reach Audrey’s peak I will become the best Caitlyn I can be.
Kate Winslet
Reason to be adored: starred in many brilliant films, absolutely stunning, refuses to diet or meet ‘Hollywood’ approved standards of thinness, is the youngest person ever to be nominated for three Academy Awards
Classic Moment: In the film Heavenly Creatures when she announces, ‘All the best people have weak chests and bones diseases.’
Adoration Level: 4 ½ goddess points out of 5
In short: Kate first caught my attention in Sense and Sensibility when she played Emma Thompson’s flighty sister with the face of an angel. My esteem for her went up even more with her work in Holy Smoke and Quills. She picks tough roles and shines in them. She is probably the most talented actress of our generation, and I think she is gorgeous, and I have a crush on her.
Jennifer Aniston
Reason to be adored: by playing Rachel Greene on Friends has created one of the most memorable and best loved television characters of the past decade and she is cute as a button
Classic Moment: the episode of Friends where Rachel throws a surprise party for Ross’s fiancee Emily, dresses up in her high school cheerleading outfit, and attempts to remove her bra through her sleeve (´ la Flash Dance) all to impress a guy
Adoration Level: 3 goddess points out of 5
In short: I think Jennifer Aniston is the most underrated comedic actress. A friend of mine once called Friends the Mary Tyler Moore Show of our generation. If this is true, then Jennifer is certainly the Mary Tyler Moore of our generation. She has great timing, is good with physical humor, and most importantly has been able to portray Rachel’s development from a spoiled brat to a warm and lovely woman. Plus Brad Pitt married her, so there must be something special about her.
Amanda Hallay
Reason to be adored: co-founder of Kittens in Underpants and managing director, is beautiful, suffered discrimination as a ‘mature’ student yet rose above this to graduate Cum Laude, wrote Fab! the cult novel of our time
Classic Moment: when she breezed into French 102 three days after the semester started, wearing an amazingly fuzzy sweater, the wind gently playing with her hair, as she explained in what sounded like impeccable French why she was just transferred in
Adoration Level: 5 goddess points out of 5
In short: She has the brains and wit to match her good looks and the great taste to run KIU.
Mrs C
Reason to be adored: is a master of every craft known to man, excellent listener and giver of advice, makes the most delicate and tasty pie crust this side of the Mississippi, comes up with excellent conspiracy theories, is a stock market wizard
Classic Moment: when Mrs C protested the possible removal of her beloved oak tree
Adoration Level: 5 goddess points out of 5
In short: She is a true Renaissance woman. Mrs C has a natural curiosity of life and there is nothing she can’t do. She is a true go-getter in every sense of the term
