  Previous letter        Letter 11           —

Dear Dr Bob,
I Have a cat ,Cleo, about five months old I need to know how old she needs to be to get her spade. I do not want to end up with too many cats if you know what I mean and I get attached to easy. Please let me know when to get this done.
Thank-you
sincerely
Jo Ann

RESPECT to da Jo Ann and Cleo, and greetings from me Island.

Dis is da kinda letter me LOVES to get. Dis is a RESPONSIBLE, LOVING cat owner wot understand that the cat be a bit of a slag (by nature) and if left to its own devices, mon, it will produce millions of kittens which will over-run the streets of Montego Bay and/or Kingston.

In answer to your question, Jo Ann.....NOW is da perfect time to get Cleo spade. Me takes it dat she has not gone into heat yet (you would know if she was in heat; she'd be acting like a slag and rubbing her Love Zone into da furniture and making weird noises.) Five months is da PERFECT time to get her spade - don't wait until she goes on heat, cuz it's ugly to see.

The operation is quick and easy; me Poison Floowah was out of da clinic and running around within hours. Just to prepare you, Jo Ann, Cleo will have a bit of her fur shaved off, but it grow back no problem (and not in dreads), and da only other thing you should watch out for is da stitches. Most stitches are disolvable, but they do itch da cat a bit and she will try to pick 'em out. Dis not be uptoon, top rankin'. When you be at da vet, get him to give you wot dey call an 'Elizabethan Collar', wot be a collar wot goes over da cats head to stop her pulling at her stitches.

If Cleo won't take da collar, den make sure you be wid her 'round da clock to make sure she behave herself wid dem stitches!

Jo Ann, you be a CREDIT to all cat lovers out dere. If only they could all be like YOU! (And if you're ever down Jamaica way, stop in and see me n' me Poison Floowah and sample some of me hoom-groon.)

RESPECT! (Jah)

Dr. Bob
